In Mass Timber Construction Land And the post that's getting the most attention at the moment is the Timber Development UK, td UK, who have launched their new publication called Timber Typologies, a comprehensive guide that aims to provide developers, investors and policymakers with the insights into the various low carbon timber construction options and methodologies Developed in collaboration with renowned Timber First architects Warthysilton Architects. The book serves as a primer for understanding how the diverse range of timber solutions all come together. Timber Typologies the first installment in a series of three books set to be released in the coming months, and offers valuable overview into timber benefits, timber components, timber systems encompassing lightweight timber frame and mass timber solutions. Dave Hopkins, the CEO of Timber Development UK, emphasised the critical role of timber in decarbonising the construction industry. He stressed the need for more specific discussions to be placed on various timber systems and approaches that are available and associated with the risks and benefits that can provide us with a progressive way to look at the way that architects, policymakers and the entire industry can be aligned for the understanding of timber construction for a better building future. In Oakland, the construction has reached the sixth story. for the mid-building podium block at 1510 Webster Street in downtown Oakland The timber structure is exposed right now, so the mass timber framework and around the concrete superstructure at the base where the transfer deck aligns, is making the 19-story plan unique. The building looks quite impressive. If you go to our Mass Timber Construction Journal, linked in feed, you'll be able to see the images of the superstructure going up and the facade system chasing it. It is impressive building in Oakland. Congratulations to everyone on the project And good friends.

At Oregon State University. We'll receive one million from the federal government to study the effects of fire on specific construction material and seeing how its increased use might be affected. The US Department of Agriculture is providing the funds to the researchers to look at how mass timber responds to fire. Mass Timber is constructed using wood elements mainly and glues them together to make a composite material. However, eric Fisher has said that the University in Civil and Construction Engineering, who is going to help lead the study in mass timber. Timber is being increasingly used and what is less understood is how the fire will affect the building. We look forward to the outputs of that research at some point in the future, once the project has wound up, and we look forward to bringing you the news as it comes to hand from the team at OSU.
