Let's look at what's making news around the world this week in mass Timber construction land and we have talked about this project previously on the podcast. But the 32 story mass Timber high rise in Milwaukee in Wisconsin is scheduled to break ground in the second quarter of this year and, if completed, the Edison is on track to become the tallest mass Timber building in the world and, when completed, it is aiming to dislodge ascent also Milwaukee. That was done in 2022 and was crowned as the CTB UH tallest mass Timber building in the world, and it will include a mixed mass Timber, hybrid Timber and concrete structure being developed by the neutral project, a real estate firm building and focusing on sustainable buildings, which measures around 393,000 square feet and rises 25 stories. The structure will have post tension concrete on levels one through eight and levels eight through 32 will feature mass Timber hybrid construction. According to finance and commerce magazine, the Edison, which came as the high end luxury housing market in Milwaukee, leverages mass Timbers, amazing technology including. They're trying to target for passive house certification as well. So we look forward to the project breaking ground later in the year and we'll bring you more updates and congratulations to the neutral project and to Europe now and 90% of Denmark's domestic wood consumption is incinerated for energy production.

Instead, it could contribute by starting its life in construction. So there's an article on our LinkedIn feed that talks about Denmark's position when it comes to timber and wood and making wood waste into materials for construction. And Timber tech announces that it has created a relationship with Western Arcary, part of the Alberta based Northland group of companies and a selected T com Timber techs market leading timber ERP solution, which includes an ERP enterprise reporting program for those that do not know and the MES system, as well as new elements for their glue land plant in Alberta, which is part of an $82 million investment to triple Western Arcary's glue and capacity into the USA.

Now and a prominent set of architectural firms have all put their signature towards a initiative that was the coordination through the building, green sustainability, lead pier and network. And under the proposed new standards, a net zero emissions building would obtain high eg 75th percentile energy efficient ratings, be free of any site emissions and powered purely by clean energy sources. Existing buildings will require an energy star score of 75 or higher or measured the whole building energy use intensity, or EUI, of at least 35% or better and the median EUI to meet the criteria. Standardization document for the process will be facilitated by the environmental protection agency energy star portfolio management system. The University of Toronto has begun rising a new 14 story mass timber building that will set a precedent for sustainable design.

Once complete, the towers expected to be the tallest academic tower structure in Canada and one of the tallest mass timber steel hybrid buildings in North America. University of Toronto, which has recently named the world's most sustainable university by QS World Rankings, is committed to furthering its role as a global model for projects like these.
