Getting close to the Chinese Lunar New Year and also getting very, very close to the finalization of the last early bird tickets available for the International Master Timber Conference in Oregon in late March. So if you are going to go, go quick, go hard or go home, let's have a look at what's making use around the world this week. In Master Timber Construction Land, and to Canada first up, a $9.4 million in federal funding will support the construction of a fire station in Peterborough in Ontario. This transformational project, which will replace the existing fire station too, will include renewable energy, master Timber Construction, water saving technologies to ensure sustainability and save the city around $24,000 Canadian annually as part of the operational cost minimizations. The announcement of the project will provide security to Peterborough for its citizens by supporting climate action, investing in renewable energy and biotechnology. However, it will also make sure that it has a focus on the community and the well-being based on response times for these services in the area and in Toronto now, and leader lane developments.

With its innovation at its 40 foot long panels, the Master Timber based floor system is being used in non-residential long span constructions, situations such as offices, institutional buildings and other sectors that require very large spanning systems. Dialogue's an architectural firm, alice Don, hosted a project update at the University of Toronto in January this year, and it was supported by and collaborated with Woodworks. The event was built as the hybrid timber, low carbon, long span, and Craig Applegaff from Dialogue was able to articulate exactly what it was that they were trying to achieve with the prototypes, the setbacks and the successes.

Now and Australia's capital city is called Canberra and it has featured an amazing six star green building based out of the main city centre called the CIT. The CIT is a wooden high tech smart campus that aims to provide groundbreaking sustainability with timber materials and the building, leading to a 49% reduction in carbon emissions, and a second crane has just been assembled there and you can see the ramps going to the new campus site. There are some impressive photos if you'd like to go and have a look at the progress of this amazing project, the CIT building and all of its design drawings, plus some up to date manufacturing drawings supplied by local supplies here in Australia. And following up on a story from well over a year ago where Modvian were looking to do timber turbines wind turbines for the Swedish market. Well, now we're pleased to say that the world's first full scale timber turbine has been produced and is sitting in Sweden at 105 metre tall tower located in a region. The first wood timber turbine now follows the smaller 30 metre demonstration project that are completed in 2020. And the rotary blades and generator hub are made of conventional materials. The tower is made of laminated veneer lumber which is glued together with strips and beams and load bearing building structure internally.
